Your Itinerary
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After enjoying your morning breakfast today, you will check out of the lodge and set off for a city tour of Kigali, where you will visit the impactful Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. This center honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994 through education and peacebuilding. You will have the opportunity to watch and listen to video clips from some of the survivors of the incident. After lunch, you will proceed with a drive to Volcanoes National Park, taking a scenic route to your booked accommodation. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the next day’s trekking.

Gorilla Trekking Experience and Cultural Village Visit
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters, where you will meet your ranger for a briefing on the code of conduct while with the gorillas. With the assistance of the porters, you will embark on a trek into the forest in search of these magnificent primates. The trek may take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas and the pace of your group. Once you locate the gorillas, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to observe and spend a maximum of one hour with them in their natural habitat. After this unforgettable experience, you will trek back to the starting point, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to your lodge for a well-deserved lunch later in the afternoon. Later in the afternoon, you will visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you will immerse yourself in traditional Rwandan life through interactive cultural experiences. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After enjoying a warm early morning breakfast, your safari driver-guide will pick you up and transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then set out on an exciting golden monkey trek, venturing into the lush jungle in search of these lively and playful primates. Unlike gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking is generally less strenuous yet equally captivating. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch. Following your meal, embark on a scenic transfer to Nyungwe National Park, taking in the breathtaking landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and enjoy the serene forest surroundings before settling in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
Today, after your early morning cup of coffee, you will depart from your hotel for an exciting adventure in the lush rainforest of Nyungwe, renowned for its rich biodiversity and home to 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 90 meters suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe Forest, and on a lucky day, spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Kigali. En route, you will visit the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza, where you will gain fascinating insights into Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant before continuing to Kigali. If time permits, you will also explore local markets and craft shops to purchase souvenirs. Later, you will be transferred to your accommodation or to the airport in time for your departure flight.
