Arrival and Transfer to Hotel
Today, upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by one of our company representatives, who will welcome you to the land of a thousand hills, give you a brief introduction to your safari, and later transfer you to your booked accommodation.

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Today morning after having breakfast, you will visit Kigali Genocide memorial grounds where over 250,000 victims of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide were given descent burial in a mass grave, you will learn more about this horrific past of rwandans and after you will set off to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze, drive for roughly 2.3 hours and upon arrival you will have your beautiful lunch and spend your evening at your leisure awaiting for your gorilla trekking adventure the next day. Dinner and overnight near Volcanoes National Park.

Gorilla Trekking, Ibyi’wacu, and transfer to Lake Kivu
Today early in the morning after having your breakfast, you will be picked by your driver guide who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze to the park headquarters for a short briefing by park officials about the rules and regulations for Gorilla trekking, thereafter you will head into the jungle in search of these primates which roughly takes 2 – 6 hours or even more depending on their movement. After finding them, you will be entitled to one full hour of observing these great apes, learning their behaviours and lifestyle in the jungle, which will give you a tremendous experience: take pictures and videos, get close contact with them, after which you will return for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the Ibyi’wacu cultural village, where you will have a deeper understanding of Rwandan traditions and culture, enjoy the traditional performances, and later drive for an hour to Lake Kivu, where you will spend an overnight.

Boat ride on Lake Kivu and transfer back to Kigali
In the morning you will enjoy a warm beautiful breakfast and then later into the boat for a ride on the blue waters of Lake Kivu, visit different islands that harbor many different bird species, including one with bats. On a clear day, you will have magnificent views of the active volcano of Mount Nyiragongo in Congo. Return back, relax at the beach or tour around Gisenyi town, and later in the day embark on your journey back to Kigali for your departure flight.
