1Day 1
Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival, you will be met by your safari driver-guide and enjoy a short tour of Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and most vibrant cities. The tour includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you will learn about Rwanda’s history and remarkable journey of recovery and reconciliation. After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before departing for Musanze, a scenic drive of approximately 2.5 hours through Rwanda’s rolling hills and countryside. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

2Day 2
Gorilla Trekking Experience and Cultural Experience
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi for registration and a briefing by park rangers. You will then begin your gorilla trekking adventure through the bamboo forests and volcanic slopes in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from a few hours to most of the morning, depending on the gorillas' location. Once found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village, where you will gain insight into traditional Rwandan culture through music, dance performances, local crafts, and storytelling. This experience offers a unique opportunity to interact with the local community and learn about Rwanda’s cultural heritage. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

3Day 3
Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Lake Kivu
Following breakfast, return to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off on a golden monkey trekking experience. These rare and endangered primates are known for their playful behavior and striking golden-orange fur. The trek is generally easier than gorilla trekking and takes place in the bamboo forests at the foot of the Virunga Volcanoes. You will spend time observing and photographing the monkeys as they move through the forest in search of food.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch before checking out and beginning your journey to Lake Kivu. Enjoy the scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside Ahead to lake kivu. Up on Arrive in the lakeside town of Gisenyi (Rubavu) and spend the evening relaxing along the beach, enjoying the stunning lake views and peaceful atmosphere. Dinner and overnight stay at your lakeside lodge.

4Day 4
Lake Kivu Experience & Return to Kigali
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing morning at Lake Kivu. Depending on your preference, you may take a boat ride, visit nearby islands, explore the lakeshore, or simply unwind while enjoying the beautiful scenery. After lunch, begin your drive back to Kigali, arriving in the afternoon or evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your memorable Rwanda safari.
