1Day 1
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park for Mount Bisoke Hiking Experience
At 4:30 am, our safari driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Kigali and drive off to the park. It’s a 2.5-hour drive to get to the Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, Musanze Province, which is a habitat for the endangered Mountain gorillas. You can take visually attractive pictures from the different stopovers along the journey. At exactly 7.00 am, we move to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village where you are briefed by the ranger about the rules and regulations governing hiking in Volcanoes. Upon having your breakfast for briefing and you will head off for hiking. The hike will typically take a full day from 6 to 8 hours depending on your hiking experience. During the climb, you will cross a series of different vegetation habitats starting with bamboo forests, then moving into Hagenia – Hypericum forest and finally moving through Senecio – Lobelia bush near the summit. You will carry your mineral water, packed snacks with you, and some energy drink as well. You will later return in the afternoon, have lunch in a local restaurant near the park, and then you will head to the hotel for check-in and relax while waiting for dinner and overnight stay.

2Day 2
Golden Monkey Trekking Experience and Transfer to Lake Kivu
This morning, after having breakfast, you will drive to the park office, where you are briefed by the ranger about the rules and regulations governing golden monkey trekking. Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park before you enter the jungle to trek the monkeys and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the monkeys, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. The trekking experience takes 4 or 5 hours, depending on the movements of these monkeys. You will later return to the starting point, have lunch in a local restaurant, and then visit a cultural village to learn about Rwandan culture in-depth before driving to Lake Kivu. Arriving at the lake, you will check in at your lodge and relax while waiting for dinner and an overnight stay.

3Day 3
Boat trip on Lake Kivu and Coffee Plantation Experience before returning to Kigali
This morning, after having a beautiful breakfast while enjoying magnificent views of Lake Kivu, you will go for a morning boat ride on Lake Kivu, watch numerous bird species, and enjoy the views of the lake. You will later visit a coffee plantation, where you will experience coffee processing work from nursery coffee plants to a cup of coffee. Have lunch, then you will drive off to Kigali.
